Hi Everyone!
So I’m writing this note to share with everyone something really cool that I get to do this summer!!!
During my last year at SMU, God began to give me a desire and passion to work with people across the globe. Since then, I have been prayerfully seeking and waiting for the Lord to reveal to me exactly when, where, and how He would call me to serve. Finally, God has opened the door for me to go on an incredible mission adventure around the world this summer!
I was recently accepted to be a part of the 2009 Global Journey team. From mid June through early August, our team will be visiting 5 different countries. Although the itinerary is still being finalized, the places we will go are probably:
1. China (Hong Kong) – smuggling in Bibles
2. India (Delhi) – living and working at an orphanage
3. Uganda – working with a children’s home for AIDS orphans
4. France – working with a church reaching out to Muslims
5. Nicaragua – running a sports camp and possibly working with disabled children or at a school.
(I know. . . its a pretty awesome opportunity!)
At each country we will spend about 10 days working to meet their specific needs. I will get the chance to love on orphans, take the Word to those in need, share the love of Christ, and encourage believers all over the world, all while learning about new cultures and getting to see more of the beautiful world God created!
I am so thankful and blessed that God has called me to go on this trip, and I know that He will be faithful to meet my needs. If you are interested in supporting me in this trip I need two things – prayer and funds.
PRAYER – My specific goal is to have 10 people a day committed to pray for the team and trip while we are gone. We will need some prayer warriors praying for things like health and safety, that the Lord would open the hearts of those we get to meet, strength and energy, team unity, love and compassion, opportunities to share about our Savior and also you can be praying now as the Lord is putting our team together and preparing our hearts to go!
FUNDS – I must raise $8,000 for this journey; $6000 is due by April 15, 2009 and the remaining balance is due by June 1, 2009. This money will go towards all flights, all meals, and travel expenses while gone, as well as group travel insurance, some visas, fees, ministry expenses, and my personal blog for the trip. I know this is a lot of money . . . for me it is the most daunting part of the trip this far, but the Lord will provide if its His will for me to go. Please don’t feel obligated to give financially but if you feel led to I would ask that you please pray about it . . . every little bit counts!
There are two ways you can donate financially:

I am so excited to see all that God will do and is doing and what He will teach me through this incredible experience. I have no doubt that it will be more than I can imagine! I am also thrilled to be able to bring a first hand knowledge and experience of so many diverse cultures back to my social studies students at Brenham High School this upcoming year.
